At R&R Pheasant Hunting,
many clients come to our 18,000 acre preserve because it affords them
some quality time with their dogs. Our hunting dogs are an essential
part of the hunting process, and have been for a thousand years. Whereas
today hunting is largely a recreational activity, its ancient roots can
be traced back to the beginning of time. Dogs are the only animals to
voluntarily befriend humans, and this relationship could have started
because of cooperation during hunting. Nowhere else does there exist
such a symbiotic relationship between man and dog.
On the hunt, dogs provide more than just companionship. They are there
to provide the hunter with a sharp set of ears and eyes that he simply
does not possess. Hunters don't use dogs because they make the hunt more
exciting; they are integral to the hunting process itself. When both man
and dog are working together, no sound is necessary, and that is a
beautiful thing.
Training Your Dog
Here at R&R Pheasant Hunting, our South Dakota hunting dogs are experts
at pointing and retrieving. On our guided tours, we teach our guests the
foundations of good hunting dog training. A properly trained dog will
substantially increase your hit count, and make the hunt even more
exciting. Our preserve provides some of the best hunting the great state
of South Dakota has to offer, and our wild birds present a challenge to
both man and dog alike.
Our guests leave the preserve with a profound understanding of their
dogs. If you bring your dog on a pheasant hunt at R&R, you'll get to see
him in optimal hunting conditions. It will be an educational experience
for yourself as well. Pheasant hunting is a challenge enjoyed by both
man and dog alike.
